About Me
Originally from rural Pennsylvania, I have been living in London since 1984. I am passionate about skiing, especially in the Alps – I met my English husband in St Anton, Austria. Ski mountaineering, and summer trekking are my recent inspiration. I can’t wait to get back to the mountains, as soon as I leave I am planning my return. See the Alpine, Haute Route and Zermatt Galleries for the examples of my recent work. I was made an associate member of the Alpine Club as an artist in 2010.
I relive the memories of exalted moments through my work. As I paint and draw I prolong the experience of skiing down or climbing up a snowfield sparkling in the cold morning sun, to idealize this uplifting experience of raw and unforgiving nature. The themed galleries reflect a way of exploring how to best represent that moment. I paint directly, after taking notes in the mountains or landscape of the colour and forms by sketching or reference photographs. Once in my studio I draw on these memories to paint the steep slope that plunges away beneath your skis, to hear the soft scuffle of snow falling, and to see the wave of stars lit up like diamonds in the inky night sky .

Ceramics exhibitions
My ceramic sculpture is simply finished in a way to allow thumbprints to remain visible in the fired clay, so one has the sense of the human hand molding the clay. The clay forms are made with slabs of clay rolled out like dough on a flat surface, then cut and shaped to fit into my hand.
Work shown in the past at the following galleries: Cecilia Colman, Cre’ Ceramics, Artemidorous, Arts & Crafts Movement, Combined Harvest, Route 76 Arthouse, Gallery Seven, Inspirations Contemporary Art, all Greater London; Ashdown Gallery in Uckfield Sussex ,and from 1988 to 1992 at Opus II Accessories in New York, New York.
Ceramic work exhibited along aside paintings in two solo shows in London at Morley Gallery in 1988, and at the Orangery in Holland Park in 1991. English Artist Maggi Hambling purchased a glazed horse sculpture from my exhibit at Morley College.
